Donald Trump Kicks Off Day One with 26 Executive Orders Impacting Muslims
Breakdown of all the executive orders Donald Trump passed in his first day as President that impacts Muslim Americans nationwide

Today marks Donald Trump's first full day at the White House. After being sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on January 20, he wasted no time.
The newly inaugurated president not only undid nearly 80 policies former President Joe Biden implemented but signed a series of executive orders on his first day back in office.
⤵️ Here is a breakdown of every executive order Trump has signed in the last 24-hours impacting Muslims:
Ending Birthright Citizenship
Upholding several campaign promises Trump signed an order to end birthright citizenship a part of the 14th Amendment. His administration argues the amendment does not recognize automatic citizenship for children born in the United States to parents without legal status. The executive order has been challenged by at least 22 states as of this report.
Realignment of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program
This order suspends the U.S. refugee admissions program until further notice—meaning Palestinians, Afghans, Sudanese and other Muslim refugees are at severe risk.
Homeland Security will report back within 90 days whether resuming refugee entries would "be in the interests" of America.
Reevaluating United States Foreign Aid
Trump plans to put a 90-day sanction on foreign aid in order to allegedly reevaluate where aid goes to, to “ensure” aid is going to a place that aligns with America’s values
‘Putting America’s Interests First’ in Foreign Policy
Allegedly putting America’s interests firsts- while the White House website is very vague in what the order is, Trump did annouce his plans to resume arms sales to Israel
Ending Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Hiring in the Federal Government
Trump’s executive order directs federal government agencies to no longer consider diversity in hiring and revise employee training programs that address diversity and inclusion— meaning programs that may cater to Muslim and minority communities
Declaring a National Energy Emergency
This order goes hand in hand with another which involves tapping into the natural resources available in Alaska. According to the Trump administration, this order will increase domestic oil and gas production in order to bring down prices for U.S. consumers.
It will also produce more natural resources, create jobs and prosperity as well as strengthen national security, an incoming official said, according to CBS News.

Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship
Restoring the Death Penalty in the U.S
‘Securing’ the United State's Borders
The Trump administration has signed to build a wall as promised and ‘secure’ the border by tightening security at the border. Trump has also given immigration officials the official go-ahead to arrest individuals at ‘sensitive spaces’ previously frowned upon including schools and religious areas— this would include mosques.
Trump also reinstated the “Remain in Mexico" policy, ending a program that released asylum seekers into the U.S. while their cases were considered.
“Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest. The Trump Administration will not tie the hands of our brave law enforcement, and instead trusts them to use common sense,” Acting Homeland Security Secretary Benjamine Huffman announced in a statement.
